Progress Report 1
Here is what the Food Fighters accomplished during today's meeting:
We established our web presence in the form of creating a Twitter (@foodfighterswvu) and Facebook page (Facebook.com/foodfighters303). We made our first Facebook post and tweet, and even gained a few followers already :) Our passwords have been written down by all of us, and a group message has been created so that our group can keep in touch via text message.
We are working on a tagline along the lines of "Eat local for the good of the community." That's our main message, but we'd like to jazz it up. Our audience is Morgantown residents as well as WVU students, so our main goal now is to spread awareness. Each group member has been assigned a task to help aid this process along. Our website will be polished and we are working to obtain a real following with our audience.
One change has been made within our group. Lauren is the main editor and Hannah will be project coordinator.
Have a fantastic Tuesday!
Progress Report 2
Here is what the Food Fighters accomplished during today's meeting on October 30th:
We have finalized our mission statement and tag lines!
-Mission statement: We exist to promote local restaurants and to educate locals about how eating locally can benefit them and their community.
-Tagline: Fighting for local food and our community.
-Twitter/Facebook: We're foodies on a mission to fight for local food and to promote local business. Follow us for the latest on local restaurants and the best eats in Morgantown.
We have also set deadlines for our video. Each group member will have a clip to contribute to the video by next Thursday. We will all ask different local businesses: "What do you think the benefits of eating locally are?" We plan to have a voiceover asking this question in the final video, and then show each different interview. Zach, our tech guru, advised us on the do's and don'ts of our interviews (Don't film anyone in front of a window!)
We also brainstormed other ideas for our video, such as cutting up letters from a magazine for the text in our video. By next week, we will have something tangible to show for a rough draft.
Stay tuned for more Food Fighters updates! Happy Halloween everybody!
Progress Report 3
Today we figured out the actual shots that will be put together for our final product. Filming will take place on Tuesday, and interviews at Tutto Gelato, Black Bear, and Real Juice have already been sent to our group's email.
Adding to the Food Fighter's web presence, we added an 'About Us' tab to our blog. We also uploaded some video influences to give our fans a hint of the kind of video that is in the works. As always, we are working to gain followers and get more people aligned with our cause.
Tuesday will be an exciting day for the Food Fighters- filming day :) We are excited and can't wait to shoot our video. Have a great Thursday rockers \m/
Progress Report 4
Today was an active day of filming for our group! The Food Fighters gallivanted the streets of Morgantown to get footage. We filmed shots of High Street, local businesses, and local artists' flyers. We bought a burger from Burger King & a burger from Tailpipes to use in our video- but I won't reveal too much about our upcoming video :)
Now we must work on the compilation of all of our clips. Once the clips are in order, we can add voiceovers to get a rough copy of our video. The script will follow this rough draft. The Food Fighters scheduled an important meeting with Dr. Gouge for Tuesday at 1:20 to discuss progress.
It was a busy and productive day of work- stay tuned for a sneak peek of our video on Thursday everybody.
